17 year old Mansi Patel, senior at Village Academy High School, was crowned Miss Pomona 2011 last night at the Pomona Fox Theatre. Hundreds were in attendance for this gala event hosted by the the Downtown Pomona Owner’s Association. A distinguished panel of judges selected Mansi from a field of three finalists. The judges were; Pomona City Counilmember Ginna Escobar (Miss Pomona 2006), DPOA President Carolyn Hemming, City of Pomona Public Library Chief Librarian Pat Lambert, Pomona Unified School District Superintendent Richard Martinez, President Western University of Health Sciences Dr. Phillip Pumerantz.
