Hours: 2nd Saturday Artwalk nights or by appointment.
Lisa Cabrera has been living and showing her artwork in the downtown for over 5 years.
Although her gallery is at the far west end of 2nd Street, she always gets a large crowd on 2nd Saturday Artwalk nights. The local community just can’t get enough of her colorful skulls and Day of the Dead artwork.
Before her move to the Arts Colony, she was already exhibiting her work at a very young age. Today, Ms. Cabrera is an award-winning professional picture framer. She frames all of her own art and has been doing so for the past 18 years.
Ms. Cabrera describes her work as illustrative, eclectic and colorful. As previously mentioned, her most popular theme is “Day of the Dead”, but she also does Native American art and mixed media. Her favorite piece of art in her gallery is of a Mayan snake, “Uxmal”. Uxmal was drawn with color pencils and painted with water colors on a mat board.
Next month, she is doing a one-man show at the Steel Workers Auditorium for the City of Fontana. Contact her if you would like more details about her work.
